We were delighted with our participation in “Make-Up in Los Angeles 2019” on February 27 & 28 where we presented new innovations and trends in make-up for 2019 and beyond.  We have since 2015 participated in these beauty industry arranged trade shows where suppliers, brands and trend setters come together in the heart of cities like Paris, New-York, Seoul, Sao Paulo, Los Angeles & Shanghai –  our team’s talent and commitment have once again exceeded our expectations and we are proud to have won numerous awards such as, to mention a few – ’Lip Topping’ device at the “Make-Up in New York 2016, ‘Sparkling Eye Shadow’ in New York 2017, “Multifunctional Ball” in Los Angeles 2018 and once again in Los Angeles in 2019 we with the “Hydro Matte Skin Prime” were recognized for delivering exceptional performance and innovation. It inspires high trust around the world that a considered customer purchase improves the lives of people and communities in developing countries. In S&J, we use FAIRTRADE certified ingredients in our formulas for our beauty and personal care products as it means that the working conditions where the ingredient is produced uphold a standard of working conditions considered humane and ethical.

We are proud of being FAIRTRADE certified as it demonstrates and acknowledge S&J’s 100% commitment to working conditions, transparency, the environment and gender equity.

We are delighted that S&J’s Research & Development Director, Dr. Malyn Ungsurungsie will be a distinguished speaker at the forthcoming In-cosmetics Asia Show, held this year At BITEC, Bangkok from 30th October – 1st November 2018. With anti-aging an ever-popular topic within the industry, Dr. Malyn’s “Anti-aging Formulation Trends” presentation, at 1:30 p.m. on 1st November, will undoubtedly be very well-attended.

At S&J we are firmly committed to improving our overall social, economic and environmental performance in a transparent and positive way. We admire, and aspire to match, companies such as Natura, Brazil’s biggest cosmetic brand, an avid follower of the Benefit Corporation Standard that provides a standard for measurement of overall performance. We accept that there is always scope for improvement, but we strive to adhere to social, economic and environmental principles to the best of our ability.

Our basic framework to ensure equality includes:

We are proud of our non-discrimination and equality policy which has resulted in that 74% of S&J’s employees are female, with a majority of senior management positions held by women. In our business, gender is never a bar to promotion and being a valued team member.

The Forest Stewardship Council is a global non-profit organization that sets the standards for what is a responsibly managed forest, both environmentally and socially. We are delighted to have been granted the FSC chain of custody certification that tracks FSC-certified material from forest to store, and embraces all our paper-based packaging.

FSC Certification covers much more than the trees themselves – it also ensures that local communities are respected, the habitats of endangered plant and animal species are protected, and that workers are properly paid.

We are also firm supporters of Fair Trade, whose stated goal is to help producers in developing countries achieve better trading conditions and improved social and environmental standards.

S&J products are a blend of organic ingredients and over the past 7 years we have worked extremely hard to eliminate, or reduce to minimal levels, all potentially harmful chemicals from both our products and production processes. For example, sodium lauryl sulphate, triethanolamine and triclosan, which have been deemed harmful in excessive quantities, have been totally removed from our products, and others reduced to minimal levels, well below harmful levels.

…and we work hard to minimize our impact on the earth’s resources.

– we have significantly decreased our carbon dioxide emissions through a reduction in transportation and power consumption, whilst making a positive contribution through extensive planting of trees and shrubs.

– we have invested heavily in water treatment facilities and, now, all water used in the manufacturing process is 100% recycled

– at our manufacturing sites we promote “Green Production” through a program of “reduce, reuse, recycle” for all the materials that are involved in our processes.

– we are committed to renewable energy through the effective use of solar cells.
